Welcome to Speech Play Grow, a speech pathology practice located in Ormiston. Our clinics offer assessment and therapy services for children with speech and communication disorders.
Speech Play Grow was established to realise our dream of bringing high quality, evidence-based speech therapy to the community.

Meet Dr. Maryane Gomez (PhD)
Hi, I’m Maryane 👋
I’m a paediatric speech-language pathologist and I’m passionate about helping little ones find their voice. I love working in early intervention and supporting children with complex and severe speech disorders, including childhood apraxia of speech (CAS).
My path into speech pathology began at The University of Queensland, where I completed a Bachelor of Science (Microbiology) in 2007 and later a Master’s in Speech Pathology in 2011. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to work with children and families around the world — across Australia (Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne), the United States (Michigan and Wisconsin), and the UK. These experiences have shaped the way I work and reinforced just how important it is to support the whole child and their family.
I recently completed my PhD at The University of Sydney, where my research focused on improving treatment for children with childhood apraxia of speech. I also completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship and continue to be actively involved in the CAS research community, working alongside leading experts to ensure the therapy I provide is always informed by the latest research.
Along the way, I’ve also had the privilege of lecturing in speech pathology across the east coast of Australia and in the United States — something I love because it allows me to support and inspire future speech pathologists.
Most importantly, I’m a mum to a vibrant 6-year-old who keeps me on my toes and gives me a daily reminder of the joys, challenges, and magic of early childhood. Being a parent myself deeply shapes how I work with families — with empathy, flexibility, and a whole lot of encouragement.

At Speech Play Grow, we offer a range of services to help children with speech and communication disorders. Our services include assessment and therapy, speech pathology coaching and training for SLPs, Telehealth assessment/therapy option for children and Daycare/Kindy speech and language screening.
